In process plants, critical pulsations occur after reciprocating compressors and in interconnecting pipe work. Strong fluctuations in flow environments after controlled compressors also put special demands on check valves.
A check valve has to work in a reliable and safe manner even in the most difficult operating conditions. This means that it has to adapt to the prevailing pulsations, turbulences or changes in the inflow conditions and close quickly and reliably whenever the flow suddenly reverses direction.
